About Violet M. McIntosh, MD
Dr. McIntosh is chief of breast surgery at Englewood Hospital. Board certified in surgery, she specializes in surgical oncology of the breast. She received her MD from State University of New York College of Medicine. She did her internship and residency at St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital Center and a fellowship in diseases of the breast at Faulkner Hospital. She has presented her work on breast cancer in African American women and benign breast diseases throughout the region. She has particular interest in breast cancer in African-American women, clinical trials, benign breast diseases, therapies for menopausal symptoms, and early diagnosis and management of lymphedema. Dr. McIntosh is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons and Metropolitan Breast Cancer Group.
