About Carmine Gianatiempo, MD
Dr. Gianatiempo is director of critical care medicine at Englewood Hospital. He is board certified in critical care medicine and internal medicine. A member of the Englewood Hospital staff for sixteen years, Dr. Gianatiempo's career has focused on the management of critically ill patients in the intensive care unit environment, which include such supportive measures as ventilatory and hemodynamic management. His clinical interests include procedures pertinent to the management of critically ill patients and have been responsible for setting forth protocols and initiatives in the ICU to improve the care of our patients, such as sepsis protocol, therapeutic temperature management for patients who suffer a cardiac arrest, blood management, and establishing protocols to prevent complications.
Dr. Gianatiempo received his MD from the University of Padua, followed by a residency at the Flushing Hospital Medical Center and a fellowship at the Mt. Sinai Medical Center. He speaks Italian and French.
The field of critical care medicine is a multi-disciplinary team that oversees the entire care of the patient while in the Intensive care unit. It is my privilege to have the opportunity to lead my team in the management of patients during their stay in the ICU and help family members understand some of the complexities during this difficult time.
