Englewood Hospital’s hospitalists are board certified in internal medicine and trained at U.S. residency programs
When you or a loved one is admitted to Englewood Hospital, our hospital physicians, also known as hospitalists, are available to treat your acute and evolving needs.
What is a hospitalist?
Hospitalists are physicians who specialize in the general medical care of hospitalized patients with an emphasis on improving patients’ safety and quality of care. They see hospitalized patients who have been referred from primary care doctors, emergency room doctors, or other physicians at the hospital. They do not see patients outside the hospital.
Englewood Hospital’s hospitalists are board certified in internal medicine and trained at U.S. residency programs.
They collaborate with your primary care doctor and other hospital-based medical specialists, as well as with the nursing, pharmacy, physical therapy, and social work departments, to create a treatment plan designed to help you get better and return to your normal routine.
Our hospitalists are highly qualified to manage and consult on a broad range of conditions, in addition to focusing on patient care, hospital efficiency and safety, teaching, research, and leadership related to hospital medicine. They have three priority areas:
Patient Care
Our hospitalists provide high-quality, evidence-based care that is compassionate and tailored to the unique needs of our individual patients.
Education
Hospitalists educate our trainees, physician peers, nurses, pharmacists, therapists, and other members of the healthcare team. In turn, our hospitalists learn from them.
Patient Safety and Process Improvement
Hospitalists provide physician leadership and implement process and quality improvement within the hospital. Our hospitalist team members strive to work with management, the medical staff, and allied professionals to make our hospital the safest and most effective place to deliver health care.
