Expert Care for High-Risk Pancreatic Conditions
Pancreatic cancer is one of the most challenging cancers to detect early. Englewood Health’s Pancreatic Cancer Prevention Program brings together a team of experts to identify and manage high-risk patients to reduce the chances of cancer developing. By offering cutting-edge screening, monitoring, and minimally invasive procedures, we aim to improve outcomes and give you peace of mind.
Our medical team includes experts in gastroenterology, pancreatic surgery, pathology, radiology, and medical genetics. We bring the highest level of expertise and are among few community-based hospitals in New Jersey to offer these advanced services.
Who Should Consider Our Program?
We provide care for individuals at high risk for pancreatic cancer due to:
- Pancreatic cysts (often found during imaging tests for an unrelated issue)
- Genetic mutations linked to an increased risk of pancreatic cancer
- Family history of pancreatic cancer
Our Comprehensive Services
Patients referred to Englewood Health’s Pancreatic Cancer Prevention Program undergo a thorough evaluation and receive a tailored care plan based on established guidelines for pancreatic cancer prevention.
Our services include:
- Advanced Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS): Performed by a small, highly skilled team of interventional gastroenterologists who also conduct fine-needle aspiration (FNA) for detailed tissue analysis.
- Molecular Testing: Specialized pathology tests can assess cyst and lesion characteristics at the molecular level.
- Advanced Imaging: CT/MRI scans can detect changes in lesions over time.
- Minimally Invasive Surgical Options: For patients who require resection (or removal of pancreatic tissue), our surgeons offer minimally invasive procedures to reduce recovery time and complications.
- Genetic Counseling: Our medical genetics physician and team can guide individuals who have a genetic predisposition to pancreatic cancer and help families understand their risk.
